The plan
Tomorrow we take off for Istanbul via Zurich. For now, we are still weeding out what we can do without from a table covered with stuff. This is a trip to experience Turkey on foot, hiking the Lycian Way which runs mostly parallel to the Mediterranean from Ozacek to Antalya for 500 kms. We have long wanted to do a long backpacking trip and the time is now. Being semi-retired I now have the flexibility to take some time that is not in the heat of summer. Cecily will be starting medical school in August, and after that, is unlikely to be available for such a venture for 7 or so years. I've been through 16 Turkish CD's twice and still lack confidence that I can do much more than order coffee or ayran (a yogurt drink) and say please and thank you. Oh well.
